David Smith, the inventor and his son, as owners of Develonet, are installing the REACH System prototype for El Mezcal Restaurant to service a walk-in cooler/freezer combination. more project photos

David was a commercial mechanical contractor specializing in restaurant service (restaurants are "commercial rooftops on steroids"). He was very familiar with the process of the commercial construction industry because he'd spent years involved in countless projects. The contractor coordination and cooperation difficulties had caused Develonet to loose countless hours, which translates into dollars lost.

David found many construction professional don't take their commitment to "providing the customer the best job they can do", seriously. He knew clients call professionals, because they are experts, and the client assumes the company he is paying will do what is best for the client.

The sad truth, contractors making money overrules what is in the customer's best interest. If other companies truly were looking out for the clients best interests, David knew... They would have designed the REACH.

Systems Design Engineer

David was an electronics System design engineer for years, before he started his own mechanical service company. This product developed because his previous System experience and his construction experience collided. He saw the value of handling a rooftop with the same System mentality to correct the component mentality (or individual pieces).

David's design of the REACH included features to allow individual companies to complete their portion of a project without having to wait on other contractors. This allowed contractors to make proper decisions for the client without the overriding concern about loosing money from his own pockets.
